Sending hundreds of billions and escalating without an off-ramp is hawkishness to me. At least in the context of Ukraine. Public opinion has long shifted in us not writing blank checks to Ukraine but we continue to do so, so IMO he's leaning towards hawkishness on the spectrum.
She's even more so than he is, she's probably actually the biggest hawk in the field right now. There's really only a handful of candidates like Vivek, Kennedy, maybe 1-2 I'm missing that don't parrot hawk talking points to varying degrees.
Older I get the more I get disillusioned with politics. I like stances Vivek holds but then I hear him talk on a debate stage and I'm like holy fuck does he sound scripted. It's as if some pollsters told him these are the points you need to hit, this is how you hit them with this intonation in your voice, etc. It just feels so fake. I still like him the most, but the fakeness turns me off.
I think there's a lot of smart people we have in this country. Well spoken, able to articulate things clearly. I listened a Jared Kushner interview not long ago on All In podcast and was surprised by how smart the guy actually is. They joked he should be running. It's kind of sad that we aren't getting the cream of the crop running for Potus in this country, instead it's mostly career politicians that have been molded by the political blob for decades.
Yeah she’s definitely most hawkish on gop front no doubt about that, I was mostly comparing to Biden who I would also describe as hawkish but doesn’t generally have that reputation (not saying you said he wasn’t).
I hate politics, the bullshit and fakeness that you are describing. Became totally uninterested for a long time. In social media age it’s even worse where you have to determine what’s the agenda for every statement /presser that is released. It’s annoying. It’s this that I think dissuades the cream of the crop so to say to run. Kushner is well spoken and one of the masterminds behind the dead Abraham accords. I would honestly entertain anyone right now and have changed perspective of the one size fit all strategy. People keep asking when Jamie dimon will run. I think the majority of successful company ceos would excel at the role
Whether it’s renewable energy, trans/depression/anxiety rate in our youth, healthcare ( specifically the failed state of health insurance), gun control, secularism, government spending, international diplomacy
There is literally nobody that will stand for every point you specifically stand with so you have to decide on the issues most important. Maybe this is why I’m willing to overlook hawkishness as I’m getting older and realizing war is seemingly part of the human condition.
