Appeal to authority? That line of thought is the odd one, here… Even in modern time, most of the world is religious… logic, math, and the scientific method don't disappear just because a concept of faith is brought into the equation. Despite your bad attempt to dismiss the idea I brought forth, which is way more broad than the simple way I brought it up, you aren’t any smarter than the average person who decides to have faith in something.

So smart people believe in god therefore it's smart to believe in god? Being a scientist means you're ten-fold more likely not to believe in god than the general public.
