It's an American only issue because in other countries you don't have access to defend yourself with lethal force at any time.

I'm pretty sure a huge portion of mass shooters were on anti-psychotics/SSRI's and or did not have a FATHER figure in their life to teach them some concept of morality.

Killing random people usually happens when someone is in a total psychosis and has a break from reality itself.

If not that they'll leave a manifesto to tell you why they may have done it

or blow their own head off because they were a coward in the first place

or worse they drop to their knees and let the "judicial system" paid for with our taxes feed, clothe, and keep them comfortable until they are politely killed by lethal injection.
