They "don't want to admit it" because it likely isn't the current plan. The city is still in basic recovery mode. There's also a big contingent of conservatives who think 15 minutes cities are a way to lock you into city sectors with dangerous minorities where you aren't allowed to leave. It's really sad.

The idea this was intentional is really really really dumb. If the government wants to enact infrastructure projects they buy minority neighborhoods and tear them down and put a highway through them destroying the value of the houses that remain. We don't start wildfires to fuck people over. We just do it.

Did the government try to grab the land or corporations or collaboration between the blurry like of corporations and govermment, or some outstanding private very rich folks? I think I heard something about this on the podcast with BJ Penn on Joe Rogan recently, he is from hawaii. But I wasnt listening very much, just had it on in the background
