Powerful song that touched a nerve with millions. Guys backstory also resonates with the tens of millions working poor.

it’s incredible how good art can be when coming from authentic experiences.

Lyrics look like a republican populist speech, sad.

Man attacked politicians, fat people, welfare, and pedophiles.

If that makes it a republican speech well ill be damned, the Republican party isn't so bad after all.

It represent the incoherence of right-wing populism. Drain your swamp man.

I don't think that individual was pandering to anyone given his background, sure you might have some more right-wing people rally around it compared to left but i'm willing to bet the majority of people can agree with the points made from both sides and it's just extremists like yourself screaming about pandering and populism.

It's mostly just everyday issues that everyone faces.

Growing wealth gap
Inflation / shrinkflation
Obesity issues and welfare system abuse
Lack of living wages for blue collar jobs

Doesn't really matter where you are on a political spectrum, the common working class can relate to nearly all of the above.

Anyway, first time I have come across the song, for a countryish song its not bad.

His verified tweet is poignant but the whole situation is pathetic, almost absurd, because let's not forget his "success" is coming from the ones he's criticizing.
This song has been used by republicans for a reason: the keywords he put in it.

"
Growing wealth gap
Inflation / shrinkflation

Lack of living wages for blue collar jobs
"

You don't have these "explanations" in the song, only "taxes", "welfare", "obese", and ... "Rich Men North Of Richmond"
Like I said: it's easily missleading and this is why republicans salvaged it.

You need to breathe for a second. You are so deeply ingrained to hate your "opposition" in a country you don't even live in that you cant just take general points from a song that people seem to generally agree with from any point on the spectrum without trying to spin it into something in your brain.

I hate the saying you need to touch grass, but if there's ever a time it applies, it has to be now.

Breath bro.

The other country song , small town or whatever it is. That's pandering dogshit.

I have no breathing problems, be sure of that. " Small town " wasn't an accident.
But republican didn't chose this song with these lyrics innocently... Like i said: keywords.

If these are issues that strike a chord with people, why don't they look for a political party that promises to address them, instead of just singing a song about it. Or if there isn't such a party, they can start one by themselves.

Seems like there is a general air of dissatisfaction with life, government, and society in the west in general. This is a perfect opportunity for a populist political party to come up.
