I don't think that individual was pandering to anyone given his background, sure you might have some more right-wing people rally around it compared to left but i'm willing to bet the majority of people can agree with the points made from both sides and it's just extremists like yourself screaming about pandering and populism.
It's mostly just everyday issues that everyone faces.
Growing wealth gap
Inflation / shrinkflation
Obesity issues and welfare system abuse
Lack of living wages for blue collar jobs
Doesn't really matter where you are on a political spectrum, the common working class can relate to nearly all of the above.
Anyway, first time I have come across the song, for a countryish song its not bad.
His verified tweet is poignant but the whole situation is pathetic, almost absurd, because let's not forget his "success" is coming from the ones he's criticizing.
This song has been used by republicans for a reason: the keywords he put in it.
"
Growing wealth gap
Inflation / shrinkflation
Obesity issues and welfare system abuse
Lack of living wages for blue collar jobs
"
You don't have these "explanations" in the song, only "taxes", "welfare", "obese", and ... "Rich Men North Of Richmond"
Like I said: it's easily missleading and this is why republicans salvaged it.
