Anyways I have heard a few long form interviews with him so I am familiar with his platform. He is basically what trump was in 2016. Independently wealthy businessman without a selfish political agenda. I’m listening to this dumb debate right now, about half way through it. It is painful listening to all these politicians just saying words. Every now and then Vivek gets his turn and brings life into the conversation and the crowd erupts every time. Desantis isn’t saying anything of substance. I’m picturing Vivek and a bunch of cardboard cutout Pepsi ads from the 80s with a speaker attached to their mouth. There is no question who the candidate should be given the options.

Nikki Haley will get votes from women.
Pence will get votes from Jesus freaks.
Yunkin will get a vote from Scott smith.
Desantis will get votes from his fanatics.
Vivek will come in second to Trump.

loved that he was the only guy on stage with any amount of energy, but he's also clearly pandering to the trump base which will hurt him long term.

Christie getting booed into silence for like 2 minutes straight was comical. he's just cannon fodder with name recognition.

Desantis is clearly confused on how to both answer and dodge a question in one go, he either blatantly diverts or answers poorly. he's got enough steam to get better.

Haley has my vote thus far, she's the only one (sans Trump) with a shot at beating biden in general.

ND and AK govs fizzled with only a few highlights, AK gov looks like an irl vampire, ND gov def owns a few too many skidoos.

Pence got lucky, no one challenged his jan 6th choice so he got to do a precanned walk on the only subject he was there to discuss, election fraud. and even he skirted it with muh constitution.

Tim Scott's entire purpose is to drag along then campaign in general as SC looks dicey. he speaks to slow and says too little.

That’s how Tim Scott always talks. The only time he has been relevant in recent memory was during the blm riots he said a few rational things.

I can’t see Haley having any chance in the primary. Honestly I don’t see any of these candidates having a chance. But she is way too in the middle of every topic and way too pro choice to get conservatives on her side.

Desantis has his die hard supporters so he will be somewhat relevant no matter what happens. I am still on the fence with him because he only speaks on his record in Florida without touching on anything he would do with a different set of priorities as president. Nobody cares about trans issues on a federal level and unless Covid-23 happens his Covid record will also be completely irrelevant.

This is many voter’s introduction to vivek. I think he did exactly what he had to do, which was get people paying attention to him. From my understanding he was the top subject on social media during the debate, so people are absolutely paying attention to him now. We will see what happens in the future. Another note he was the only debater who was completely straightforward with his positions. He wasn’t gauging the crowd, he was just telling them how he feels. That is an important distinction between a run of the mill politician and a candidate people will get excited for.

Haley doesnt need to win over conservatives in general election, there's only 2 choices. general election is all about moderates or unlikely to vote people. there she's got the edge over many on that stage.

Vivek had a great debate, he won if anyone did for sure. i just dont see how being a trump clone works in a race where trump is likely in. will he at some point make the pitch trump should be out and make way for him? that's a tough sell for a 1-5% polling guy to make.

Was this another gathering of election deniers who thinks the last election was stolen from trump?
