Not exposed to social media reactions and I could care less what the reception/critics say about it.

Movie made to generate cash delivered on its promise, so I guess that's a win.

Low/medium entertainment
above average message

Didn't think the movie was woke, had some shots on progressive ideology (that's a big no-no these days).

Given the corporate/capitalism themes, I would've felt bad being part of the two thirds of the theatre cosplaying peppa pig

PS. enjoyed it way more than the last 'progressive' movie I watched; `everything everywhere all at once`.

I doubt many people on here have watched it. You're not posting on a site that has an audience for it. Try Facebook perhaps.

good advice for all of OPs threads.

thats how most modern-day conservative content creators make their bones, either being genuinely upset or pretending to be upset for clicks

Same sentiment here, the movie wasn't woke at all. I feel the directors played both extremes against each other with the message to join the silent majority who are sane people. Funnily enough, Ken with his Kenough was more iconic than any other char. Alan dude represented the cool, capable simp who was totally ignored by barbies. Probably friendzoned

Unfortunately for me I had to sit through that stupid fucking film with my wife. Idk about your definition of woke, but the entire plot revolves around extremely exaggerated examples of some cartoony version of (oh, the horror!) the patriarchy. The movie is about feminism. That’s it. Feminism good, men bad. Literally. Barbie world is run exclusively by women while the men wait at the beach and are not allowed to speak until spoken to. The women are blindly happy in their fake world where they do everything they want, non stop, with zero responsibility or consequences. There is a few minutes where the men “brainwashed” the women and they acted like every woman has in almost every civilization since the beginning of time until the last century. The ironic thing is they were all super happy just acting like wives until Barbie convinced them they were not. They obviously did this so everybody would discuss the message they were trying to convey.

Overall the movie was fucking feminist garbage and I was pissed my wife made it the most important part of my one weekend off a month. I was going to buy a motorcycle with my bonus from last month and had to sit through that bullshit instead. She felt empowered so whatever I guess….. I ordered three new guns instead.

A side note what truly ruined my weekend was how four staff members from the theater stool outside the doors as the credits rolled handing out pink balloons and saying, “BYE BARBIE, BYE KEN” to everybody exiting the theater. It was a traumatic experience.

Seeing the Barbie movie in exchange for 3 new guns is a pretty good deal

If I am lucky I will have time to clean the packaging grease out of them in September. Don’t let any woman think there is an exchange worth going to see Barbie as grown adults. I wish it was a kid’s movie, it would have been so much better.

I am sorry you have not experienced what a wonderful experience having some sense of a traditional relationship with a woman is, and establishing boundaries to separate man things and woman things. It is a great feeling when your wife does lady things with other ladies, and returns home in a good mood being empowered or whatever without men present. Much like it is a great feeling wrenching on a truck with your man friends, drinking beer and talking shit. There needs to be separation in a healthy marriage.

Bringing your husband to a movie about how shitty all men are and how women are much happier without men in their lives is complete bullshit.

Invite a woman over to “Netflix and chill” or whatever lame line you would use and pop in the vhs of Two Lane Blacktop. See how impressed she is with you.
