The pro-Trump left and pro-Trump new-right obviously are going to support RFK jr. because he's challenging Biden and he's a conspiratorial crank. Those people are so anti-institutionalist and conspiratorial that this is a candidate they can get behind, or at the very least platform and say nice things about until he inevitably fades away.

The fact that he's polling high shows his name recognition, Biden's weakness, and perhaps a strain of the Democratic party which are conspiratorial cranks as well.

I heard on a podcast that RFK jr. would poll higher in the Republican primary. Probably not true, but he would likely be in the top 5, because full-blown nuttery has a home in today's Republican party.

Anti-institutionalism is very popular. It's why Joe Rogan and Steve Bannon both praise a person like RFK jr. They have a kneejerk opposition towards "normal" candidates or ideas. Bannon is more strategic in his thinking obviously... he knows elevating RFK jr. is great for Trump. Rogan is just more of an ignorant dumbass. But this group includes so many across the political spectrum, ranging from rabid pro-Trump people like Bannon/Charlie Kirk to weirdo lefties like Glenn Greenwald and Jimmy Dore. The north star for all of these people is to oppose what they believe to be the establishment.
