I don't think it needs to be a purely avoiding hell idea or even religious in nature, but instead that a marriage between a man and a woman is the best place to raise children.

yeah we should probably enforce family values and remove things like the ability to divorce without good reason (abuse, violence, cheating) in order to create a better environment for children and more stable society as a whole

I think your thinking comes from a place of misunderstanding and hatred for the big bad republicans.

Weddings mean nothing, an expensive celebration and a piece of paper.
I do think you should try to raise your kids in the most stable and safe way you can, if the mother or father is abusive, go it alone, if they are a good parent but you lost attraction for whatever reason stick it out for the kids sake.

Kids from married parents still end up heroin addicted and in jail. People should have agency for their life choices instead of blaming the system.
