Great news. Although the most important member of NATO faces the possibility of re-electing an authoritarian in 2024 who wants to leave the alliance. So there's that.

Finland was de facto practicing with NATO as an observer for around 2 decades at least, and had renewed its arsenal into a practically fully western one after having MiGs and some other Soviet equipment post-WW2. It became part of the EU and entered the Eurozone. Ukraine has done much less, just like Georgia yet both got attacked by Russia post-Cold War. That's not an excuse. Not even the annexation of Crimea made Finland willing to join NATO. But when Russia invaded the mainland, the majority of the population started supporting it. If Russia claims NATO expansion is the threat, then why didn't Russia budge when it came to Finland slowly drifting towards NATO?

You say we should respect Russia doing it's geopolitics. Why aren't Sweden, Finland and Ukraine allowed to make their geopolitical choices based on the threat Russia poses? Nobody wants to be under the influence of a state where men barely live over 65. Life in the Western sphere is so much nicer.
