Still wondering how this crushes China.. Is it correct to conclude only companies receiving funding from this act are restricted in dealing to China?

Chinese Foreign Ministry representatives criticized the U.S. legislation as an example of American "economic coercion", shame for U.S really.

As retaliation: no more dancing cactus polluting plastic gadget shit with cocain rap polish song (it's real)

its less about what we DO produce, and more about what we CAN produce. we have the infrastructure to be self reliant, with a good balance of production, agriculture, and population.

china is the world's largest farming country, USA is #2. but we have under 1/4 the population.

if aliens came down tomorrow and said "if any country trades with another country we blow up your planet" the USA would be fine, china would starve en masse. it would survive but its a country of producers for trade. USA trades for convenience, China trades to survive.

Interesting analogy but essentially correct.

The US is geographically superior to almost every country on the planet for agriculture, navigable waterways and natural resources.

1.3 billion people means a lot of mouths to feed. A breakdown in global trade/global shipping would be a death knell for China, literally.

This is by far the greatest tool the US has to prevent a future war with China. whereas Russia is happy to let peasants starve or die, with a low population density in many places, China will face an uprising in short order if food shortages occur, no matter how well they think they have society engineered.

laugh all you want, by the time your country learned how to grow food for 1.4billion people without the ability to import .4 billion people would be dead and cold.

that's not even addressing the fact that most of the urban people wouldnt even be needed in cities if trade shut off.

Watched a video that showed the United States has something like 20% of the farm land within 100 miles of shipping lanes.

Which means we're the best country in the world to grow and then mass transport food.

Was really eye opening

No one is , neither is the United States, or EU , or South East Asia etc etc.
We have created a world that is interdependent on one another.

China does not have the technology to manufacture high end chips. Tiawan and Japan do., why they have teamed with america. In fact, semiconductors are third behind only autos and airplanes for manufactured exports from the usa.

If you think the Chinese haven't stolen those high tech chip making tech by now, you will be disappointed.

China has been trying and failing to catch up on chip production for like 30 years.

Mass production of modern chips is literally the hardest thing humans have ever done
