Occurred in Monterey Park, near Los Angeles. Important Lunar New Year festivities were organized in this predominantly Asian city.

Another shooting in the United States. At least ten people died on Saturday January 21 in Monterey Park, in southern California. The shooting happened an hour after the end of a Lunar New Year party, which gathered tens of thousands of people in Monterey Park. This city, located about 13 km east of downtown Los Angeles, is home to a large Asian community.

"The suspect has fled the scene and remains nowhere to be found," Capt. Andrew Meyer of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Office told reporters. According to press reports, the shooting occurred in a dance hall on Saturday evening.

The United States pays a very heavy price for the dissemination of firearms on its territory and the ease with which Americans have access to them. Around 49,000 people died from gunshot wounds in 2021, compared to 45,000 in 2020, which was already a record year. This represents more than 130 deaths per day, more than half of which are suicides.

is it already... another day in america?!

problem is clear: not enough guns for everyone to "defend" themselves, otherwise this wouldn't happen...

At least you acknowledge over half of the “gun death” statistic are suicides.

I am honestly astonished you included that. Now figure out the % left that is gang violence and you may want to stop bitching about America and our guns.

what a dumb talking point, lol. you think other countries don't have organised crime and suicidal people?! of course they are part of the gun issue, you can't just dismiss those as "would have died anyway" or whatever your mental gymnastics there are, lol.

The “mental gymnastics” used in this argument is taking skewed statistics that include suicides and gang violence and using them to force your opinions on law abiding gun owners like myself.

The argument for the 2nd amendment being absolute is the statistics themselves.

there is exactly ONE legitimate argument you can make and it's "i simply don't care enough about dead children and innocent people to overthink my position on firearms, i value my toys more than the lives of those around me". that's the only honest "argument" you have. every statistic, study, and comparison clearly shows that america's insane death toll would be significantly lower without its weird gun obsession. so please spare us the mental gymnastics, grow a pair, and just say it like it is, lol.
