“There is perhaps no subject on which people do more sloppy and muddled thinking than on the subject of God. Some say He does not exist at all, which immediately eliminates the only reasonable explanation for our existence and that of the universe, for how can an effect manifest potentialities absent in the cause? How can we, thinking, self-conscious, loving, planning beings, be the product of some force which itself is lower than even the inanimate forms of matter? Nothing ever grows to fulfill more promise than was wrapped up in the genes and protoplasm of its original seed form. Why should every proven law of life fall down when we get to the biggest idea of all—how did we thinking humans come to appear in the universe and how did the universe itself get here? Whatever made all things, or is the source from which all things continually flow, must not only be as conscious of it own being as man is of his, but more so; otherwise man would not be here at all.” Pg 108 (Ruhiyyih Rabbani)
Is it not both observable and evident that for every masterpiece, there is a greater artisan accounted as its maker?
Is it not both observable and evident that mankind has dominated nature in a way that no animal on this Earth could ever come close to?
steady state used to be the explanation. that the universe was always here, it was the universe that was eternal.
but with the advancement of science and the hubble telescope and the observation of the red light shift it is now though/believed that the universe had a
beginning.
so much for the claim that religion is at war with science?
Cosmological Redshift
Hubble's Law of cosmological expansion was first formulated by Edwin Hubble in 1929. Hubble compared the distances to galaxies to their redshift and found a linear relationship. He interpreted the redshift as being caused by the receding velocity of the galaxies.
(this was actually a curious moment in scientific history. that a new thought/idea replaced the old so effortlessly. usually its everyone fighting about it.)
and
1 In the
beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
