Well, a lot of us knew that this was coming, but it appears that TikTok will likely be banned in the US after years of the network influencing kids to do things like set themselves on fire, suffocate themselves to death, or injure themselves while falling off a tower of milk crates.

Supposedly the concern is that the Chinese government could potentially take control over the user data, which is probably a good reason to blacklist this type of user data collection completely.

Oh well. I always thought TikTok was sad and cringe inducing anyways, so you won't see me crying about it.

what happens on tik tok already happened on facebook, twitter and if we are old enough to remember .... Friendster.

I bet you are trying to use this as an argument but also are staunchly against any idea that video games negatively influence children

Is tiktok that bad that it needs to be banned on a country level?

I don't use it nor care for it so I genuinely don't know.
