Hello. I remember talking to this guy on this other forum. Basically, he said that the West's demand for chocolate resulted in international companies going to third world countries that produced cocoa beans and exploiting the local farmers, paying them very low wages. He said that this means the West should accept these people into their countries as immigrants as a way to right their wrong, so to speak. But I believed that the fault should lie with the companies, not with the average person in the West. Yes there is a demand for chocolate but nobody said the businessmen needed to turn to exploitation. They could have paid a decent wage to the producers of chocolates, ensuring that they have enough to live on and would not have to come to the West for a better life.

Anyway just wondering which side you are on.

that's just dumb.

first of all, if the exploited had better alternatives, they would take them. they don't. they need the west to go there and create jobs for them.

second, those governments could regulate a minimum wage, a top number of worked hours per week, etc. they don't. it's they versus they.

regarding migration, the problem is that most of it is illegal, you get murderers and rapists and pedophiles and drug dealers and muslims and blacks and browns.
there are no background checks.
there is no rhyme nor reason to it.
we can just look at failed countries regarding migration, france, sweden, germany, uk, etc.

I am not surprised. You would love for Canada to be over-run by minorities.

I didn't say I agreed with the stance, just that he seems very empathetic. So which forum was it?

Yeah my local PPC candicate knocked on my door during the last election, I appreciated the opportunity to escort him off of my property.

Why would you do that? Is it because they want to slow down the importation of your beloved non-white immigrants?

Because it's my private property and I'll do whatever the hell I want.

All of capitalism is exploitative, but especially so in a global context. The West should absolutely makes amends for that exploitation--whether that involves immigration or something else remains to be seen.

But it's the multi-national corporations doing the exploiting, why should the average person in the West pay for that?
