I have this suspicion that if Elon opens the floodgates to "misinformation" it will showcase the "necessity" by (Gov't/MSM) to do something about it. I think it's just a play, Elon is no one's saviour unless he can withstand the attack the left will ploy if he gives the right a voice. What're your thoughts?

I personally envision the conversations on Twitter getting "out of control" which won't jive with those in power and future policies will make it very difficult for Twitter to survive. Elon being prosecutable for his platform hosting dissident content. Get the popcorn.

The more that Big Gov engages in blatant tyranny and oppression, the more people will turn against them and wake up faster. I'm all for it.

But in all seriousness, there is something called the first amendment standing in their way. Although they sure are trying their hardest to destroy it.

But at any rate, let them try. It will only expose their hypocrisy, arrogance and fascist tendencies even faster.

You won't get answers until the deal goes through and that's going to take several months. I think once Musk learns more about the infrastructure, he'll probably accept a compromise solution: attack the bots heavily and leave the monitoring tools up and running. He'll want to see how much bots contribute to misinformation, hate speech, etc.
