In north Carolina a group of voters has sued madison Cawthorne and his organization saying after what he pushed on jan 6th and his involvement in trying to ruin democracy that it would be unconstitutional for him to be able to run for office.

Lawyers interviewed think these voters have a chance to literally stop Cawthorne from running.

Madison Cawthorne is one of these new wave super radical republicans that openly advocate for gun violence against the Democratic party among countless other ridiculous things. He recently had a tell all where he revealed that his Russian wife was almost forcefully introduced to him as part of a literal con to get Madison to meet this girl, and his 8 month now ended marriage is likely just her collecting highly classified data for the Russians. But I Digress.

Idk man. The country was kind of founded by a small group who signed a document telling Britain to fuck off. The guns came later.

That said, our legal system is wildly flawed, and though they may have legal merit, how much are they willing to spend?

If there's any honest judge in the world, they'd tell the accusers that the whole damn system is fucked and Cawthorne (who isn't at all radical, he's just young) is the least of America's worries

I think the bigger question is should we honestly give a fuck that one more ass person doing an ass job may get voted into an ass county? Legal merit or no, it would honestly be a hilarious precedent for the republicans to steal, use 40x as much and act like it was theres all along.

The bigger concern with folks like cawthorn, MTG, or any other fringe asshole, is it encourages the most ignorant, vocal minority to come out in droves. A large chunk of the population already doesn't vote, we don't need the folks with double digit iqs showing up in triple digit quantities voting for some singular asshole who says, "insert ignorant punchline here".
