Imagine being stranded for up to 24 hours on the interstate in an icy traffic jam like Virginia just experienced. But everyone has electric cars. With gas cars, good samaritans can rescue drivers by bringing cans of gas to the needy to refuel and keep warm. But with EVs, if they run out of power, thats it. Theres no portable power coming. So you freeze or run. Plus, EVs might not hold their charge as well in cold weather, so you have even less time.

EVS are improving pretty soon they will surpass gas vehicles in every way. A good Samaritan can carry extra battery cells. Gas isn't going away overnight. I imagine it will be still utilised for a long time.
