Hey guys,

Offering a lighter side opinion on the length of this pandemic and level of restrictions. Keep in mind this is my optimistic opinion on the matter please take it with a grain of salt, however, I do encourage everyone to share their thoughts on this.


So most people are on the same page of being sick of / tired / over this pandemic. At least in my experience, that's the general vibe, people want it to be medically ended.
I tried to calm a friend down the other day who just kept going off about how stupid and un-needed a lot of things are, he's vaccinated, has never been around a case, is healthy, following rules, yadda yadda.

A large reason why we are still in a global emergency state is less to do with the deadliness of Covid and the variants, and more to do with infrastructure and global communication as well as plans for the next pandemic.

We've never been more globally active than we are now. This pandemic is an amazing opportunity for many researchers, scientists, politicians, businesses, any governing body, to learn as much as possible and have the best possible plan in place for next time.

This pandemic has so many unprecedented aspects that were not factors in previous pandemics. As globalization is on the rise and not on the decline, we want to be as prepared as possible for next time. I'd rather them take their time and figure out systems and plans and procedures to have in place for next time in case it is truly a more deadly disease than the mortality rates we see with Covid.

In a way, we could consider ourselves lucky, if you think the same thing could have happened, but the disease could have been much worse.

So much new stuff and opportunity and the possibility to learn shit these days. The first time we've had such a global community during an official pandemic.

Many of the restrictions being put in place, how the restrictions are being told or dictated to the public, the effects of these communications, etc etc - all of this is psychological testing. All of this is done on purpose to learn. Every little thing is researched, and social effect is a large component of the changes they are trying to make/plan for.

It has been interesting to watch the world's response and for sure very tiring to deal with. I do have some hope omicron will be down to a level of harm that we might actually able to get things back to relative normalcy. Just hoping it doesn't have any long term effects or mutate to another more dangerous form in the future.

but there are things worth poking fun at.

when biden lifted the mask mandate for "vaccinated" people (which was just a scam to trick people into getting the shitshot) many lefties still kept theirs on. because they "didnt want any one to think they where trumpers"..... dont ever get TDS

you can get covid and have a 99.97 recovery rate. thats realy fukn high but half the world is in a REEEEEEEEEEEEE about it. but if you get infected with TDS your pretty much screwed.

Again my point you yourself are a prime example. And your reaction is not yours alone, many people feel the same. This is valuable information for anyone trying to research pandemics and anyone planning for the next one. Figuring out the pros and cons of pissing people off, how much they can get away with, whats beneficial, whats just enough to not let people riot etc etc. The "Stupid" things you see, some of them are pourposley done to see just how the reaction is from people like yourself, or anyone who would be against it.

This happens daily despite the pandemic.

I think we need to stop traveling the globe just for fun.
Covid came frome china to europe via chinnese workes in Italy.

There should be some sanitary rating of countires.
Like Grade A or B. So if you come from a grade B country to a grade A country you have tp spend 14 days in quarantine.

This is a very interesting alternative form of restrictions - There are sporadic restrictions of this nature, such as natural disasters, political conflicts, disease, etc.

Would be very subjective and difficult to quantify what a "Clean" country is on a global scale, with so many varying things that are acceptable let alone cultural differences, How would you propose we start a baseline or threshold for how to rate countries on Sanitation?

Curious about your response as the idea itself seems cool, just a little too vague and complicated for me to wrap my head around right away.

Yeah the grading system is though, but i should be based on hard messurable facts. Like if the country has 95% of all households connected to stable electricity, fresh water and sewers. If you have that you can uphold a satisfied level of hygiene.
