Take the global picture and to admit that Ads exposing a white or why not black (but poorer ofc ) "perfect american family" with all-consumerism habits is probably as bad.
One forces you onto standards, the other is exploiting a little bit some social tensions of the moment. One is lobotomizing you on following a norm while the other is shaking the bottle.
but it's true these things can be disturbing if you dont like gays or gingers.

Company is trying to look woke to appeal to the masses.

What's the story here?

Seems like normal capitalism to me.

Does this appeal to the masses now? I mean someone like Microsoft would have looked at statistics. Maybe I'm so out of touch, but this stuff does not appeal to me at all, just seems like trying to cater to some very small % and trying to hard to do it.

I think that small % of people just want to be treated like normal human beings, not people openly trying in an over exaggerated way to say they're welcoming you with open arms.

Blizzard was a fine example of this.

This is to keep the 5% of the people who care silent.

The other 95% ignore it.

Wokeness doesn't at all "appeal to the masses", it's offputting and obnoxious. It's called going along with who's in charge and has been the game for thousands of years.
