So unlike many unfortunate people who come before me, you are lucky in that regard, and I hope you appreciate that.”

If he can be treated, then we should focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment. The grim reality is that minorities struggle with rehabilitation due to their upbringing and other external factors. Why should someone who CAN be rehabilitated suffer because of a broken system?

A lot of rich white men get away with rape & receive super lenient charges all the time as well

Yuck. Some judges are complete fucking idiots. One profession with hardly any accountability.

He can get treatment in jail. The man should be incarcerated, the judge should be drawn and quartered.

There are plenty of social workers and counselors in jail to work with this dude.

House arrest plus treatment is the most humane option especially since it's on HIS dime and not society's.

Deserves jail time.

If you truly believe that then offer that option to everyone, not just the rich white people. Calling that a consequence for raping a 3 year old is a slap in the face
