Spend more as a % than ever before even when we were fighting the biggest war ever.
Spend about the same as we did in 2020 when literally they were giving everyone free checks and trillions were being given left and right to do something about Covid.

awful economic data the during the current administration (hardly reported, hardly discussed here, hardly surprising), zero plans to get people back to work, consumer confidence is non-existent, mixed messaging about safety and reopening.

solution? spend $6T on vague initiatives and special interests. 25,000 page spending bill im sure.

its almost as if every crackpot failed policy of the previous admin is coming into fruition.

stop acting like this is the current administration's fault. he has a sweeping mess to clean up that trump and the repubs left once again.

trump's short term smoke and mirror policies were doomed to fail from the start. their only purpose was to make him look better but they all sucked because it was to benefit him and him only.

Regardless of party it always seems like the current parties policies are based on them keeping control for the next few terms at minimum. Obviously when running a country you need a long term view but the view of we will borrow it all now and by 203X our increases to corporate and personal tax will cover it assumes the other platform will keep those tax policies. Voters also have goldfish brains so if it does not pan out and the current party loses control and everything crashes because the new party taking control didn't follow through with the old parties policies the old party can just blame the new one saying they're crashing the economy when in fact it was due to the previous parties decision.

yeah and the majority of the extremist loons in this forum (I.e users posting above) are just political shills who only care about "owning the other side" instead of coming up with comprehensive solutions.

the terrible infrastructure of america isn't trump's fault really. nor is the failure of the healthcare system. its a team effort of both republican and democratic legislatures and executing branches going back decades.

regime after regime failed to rein in on a federal, state, and local level contracting and bidding issues that lead to a sluggish infrastructure meta in America. we over spent on foreign wars and international trade and security plans and now we have a country of potholes, failing power and water systems, and a shitty apparatus to fix it.

the cost to fill a pothole in america is 10x the materials and labor used to fix the pothole. thats a big reason this bill is so expensive.

and what? so the vaccine rollout playbook gets attributed to the current administration (even though Bloomberg reported it’s the Trump administration’s exact playbook https://www.bloombergquint.com/amp/politics/biden-covid-team-derides-trump-plan-while-borrowing-its-playbook) but anything bad economy-wise, foreign relations-wise, and border-wise isn’t the fault of the current admin.

The irresponsible spending isn't in this budget. It's that we didn't do this across the last 50 years and instead invaded Iraq and generally wasted our money on right wing interventionism and tax cuts.
