Intel: 18 billion

Biden is asking congress to give 50b dollars in subsidies to these companies. Now it's starting to make sense why big tech donated to his campaign, I just didn't think it would be this brazen.

criticism is definitely deserved here, but its still a much better investment than most of the other crap biden is spending money on

The issue isn't chip manufacturing, it's silicon water manufacturing, and there's only two companies that have any significant capacity in that. TSMC and Samsung.

We should be assisting with expansion of wafer production and that's about it. The rest will follow suite.

The investment should be happening on the private side. Last I checked the US government isn't receiving dividends from Apple or Microsoft. They are basically socializing the costs but privatizing the profits here. I mean i own Apple & Microsoft so maybe people like me are fine, but i realize that's not most Americans.

I understand subsidizing industries that are struggling or we need to keep on life support i.e. airlines or certain farmers but to subsidize companies that are raking record profits, making an obscene amount of money really to me is completely nonsensical.

it's amazing that all it took for trumptards to realise and hate how america is basically an oligarchy, was a democrat doing just a fraction of the brazen corporate bidding that trump and other republicans did for decades, lol.
with that in mind though, maybe revisit the recent SCOTUS picks and their stances on corporate lobbying and power. try to ignore the red meat concerning their hatred for women's rights and their obvious political leaning, and remember what i told you lot from the very beginning was the main issue with all of those picks.

you don't get to cheer for your side selling out the american people and working class, and then unironically clutch your pearls and pretend you reject politicians doing favours to the rich and powerful when the other side does it. that's silly and disingenuous.
