1 Timothy 2: 12
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.
To my Christians and anyone else. Correct or incorrect?
(subject to interpretation. the correct method is to try to discover the authors intent.)
" assume authority over a man"
(should a woman "assume" authority over a man? what is your answer? ...........and no dom jokes)
1 Timothy 2:12
King James Version
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
during service its rude to interrupt (for both man and woman). if i remember correctly this scripture was directed to a specific church where the women were being a problem. New converts from paganism. In some pagan religions women are the authority. In christianity its a equal partner ship
1 Corinthians 7:4
King James Bible
The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
(equality and giving to one another)

this is the reasoning I use with Christians who claim that 'homosexuality is a sin'. If they can selectively ignore many other passages of the Bible, why can't they just ignore the anti-gay stuff as well?
It's so easy and obvious. If they did that, they'd be doing their religion a huge favor in terms of sustainability and acceptance.
"...selectively ignore many other passages..."
(is a false path)
i spent my life irreligious. christianity? will you give up your worldly ways (your sin)(serving your flesh) for God. Will you chose your self or God. I had to give up the booze among many other things (i never imagined a world living sober). The holy spirit gives one the power to do such things and become a new creature.
