You could replace pitbull with poorly trained dog in your sentence.
My catahoula hound is far deadlier than a similar sized pitbull and no one hates them. Pitbull happen to be the breed chosen by the least responsible owners most often imo. Perhaps you’ve never heard the saying, “there are no bad dogs, only bad owners”
My good friend has a rescue pit that used to be a fight dog, both the most vicious dog you’d see who once she bites doesn’t let go and also the only dog afraid of the wind due to severe beatings in her “training”
She has been successfully rehabilitated and is safe to be left around even small toddlers and has no signs of aggression. Three years ago she bit my 15 week old catahoula and almost killed her, now she’s the sweetest dog you could imagine meeting and they are best friends ofc
Too many people get dogs thinking “oh it’s easy” not realizing that a puppy is shitloads of work and training then you end up with big aggressive beasts who have no social skills and a bad temperament. Lots of people have no business owning dogs, that is not the dogs fault
this is somewhat true, but a pitbull with a bad owner is far worse than a poodle with a bad owner. the breed does play a role, too.

I’m not buying a dog as a toy, I have a Pitt boxer mix specifically because she can be vicious. I have her for protection as I work long hours and my fiancé and child are at home alone for long periods of time. I don’t want a dog that licks you if you break into my home, I want her to fucking murder you. You have no right to tell me what breed I should be able to own or not so long as I take the responsibility of the risk of a lawsuit if she decided to harm someone unjustly. /thread.
but basically agreed. although perhaps as mentioned above pitbulls should require a license to own since theyre so dangerous when not properly cared for. same as how you cant own venemous snakes without a license.
