Re-thought out for sure. But you get what you pay for. Defund the police and you just get shittier police who find ways to supplement their income through other ways. It is better in all ways to have a professional police department like Cincinnati now has compared to a gang like New Orleans PD has traditionally been known for, for example.

You can't pay cops shitty wages and wonder why you have a bunch of bad cops. Even the exact same humans will do their jobs better if they are treated better by their employer and given a just wage.

I was friends with a county commissioner through her day job and I couldn't believe how little firefighters get paid. Sure, their politics are completely insane but you have to be at least half-crazy to run into a burning house to save someone.

Defunding the police, as a blanket statement, is idiotic IMO. And I was just basically raped by a cop in court yesterday.
