Is this why Barr tried to get a lackey installed at SDNY?

Steve Bannon doesn't have any goodwill left with Trump and has been outside the inner circle for some time, much less with Barr. He's been too toxic for 3 years now and didn't earn his way back into Trump's orbit with his Roy Moore fiasco. And res ipsa loquitur, Berman was replaced by Strauss at Barr's request and this prosecution went forward, so I don't see much need for conspiracy theories around bad faith governance. It seems like a pretty simple affair of Bannon being caught with his hand in the cookie jar, or at least Kolfage for sure, the wording in the indictment leaves it a bit opaque whether Bannon has room to hide behind 'operational expenses' as an excuse but that seems quite doubtful

All the folks impugning Barr's motives really stuck out to me as one of the most undeserved hatetrains of this administration, when you can see folks in Trump's orbit like Bannon who deserve it

Bannon might be on the outs with Trump but he's still a cult personality. Cult propaganda shows have him on. Barr would obviously view him as part of the loony narrative of cult vs deep state.

Barr is probably the worst member of this administration outside of Trump. He'll go down as one of the most corrupt and political AGs in history.

Because Bannon was in Trump's inner circle for a while, they might try to flip him for information related to other investigations.

What exactly is your grievance with Barr? Anyone who can pull their head out of the rabbit hole of liberal conspiracy theories can see that Barr has been one of the most competent, professional and detached members of an administration rife in 'personalities'. Folks who are themselves bad faith actors have thrown all kinds of shit at Barr and impugned his integrity with every accusation short of satanic cannibalism, and he just shrugs and brushes it off and goes back to his business.
We had 6 years of Eric Holder acting as Obama's personal sin eater to backtrack promises and brush over scandals and international incidents and go after opposition journalists. But that's apparently nothing compared to Barr getting in and clamping down on the hysteria and palace intrigue by throwing bad faith political prosecutions out the window and refusing to go after his political opponents and charging ahead unfazed with law & order operations while democrats try to burn the house down.

IceMage: lists the myriad of examples of Barr interfering in cases that benefit friends of the president, Barr starting an investigation of Russiagate without a predicate, Barr constantly making politically divisive and nutty speeches and talks on Fox News, Barr lying about the removal of a US attorney who just happens to be in the district that prosecutes Trump's friends
Goomshill: essay flipping reality upside down casting Barr as the great defender of justice against the deep state

There, I skipped to the end.

>mountains of public evidence of wrongdoing, leaking, prosecutorial misconduct and proven criminal actions
>IG reports make criminal referrals
>investigation results in a guilty plea just yesterday
>Icemage: "without a predicate"

I don't understand the mentality of so many people on both left and right who are so heavily invested in their narratives of grand conspiracy theories and bad faith governance that every major opposing figure needs to be investigated and prosecuted and imprisoned, when the reality has always shook out to be either the low level uncoordinated misconduct of individual self-interested actors or nothing at all. Instead of some deep state of democrats or Russian collusion plots from Trump, it turns out to be a few politically motivated agents cutting corners and leaking, and charlatans engaging in petty frauds for their own benefit. And Barr comes along and says we need to get over it and clamp down on the nonsense.
