I know about Bioluminescent Luciferase Enzyme. I use it in research. It's a pretty common way to assay enzyme activity if you have an ATP consuming or producing enzyme.

Since the luciferase activity can be measured by the light it emits when it catalyzes a reaction, and is proportional to the concentration of ATP in your solution, you can measure the activity of an ATP producing enzyme by letting that enzyme go for a while and measuring the increase in luciferase enzyme activity.

Or you can put ATP in a solution and let your ATP consuming enzyme go, and then do the same measurement and note the decrease in luciferase activity.
