Came across this funny tweet and the comments section makes for some interesting dialogue. People who live in capitalist countries extoling the values of communism and people who have escaped communist countries or lived through it talking about how terrible it was.

Why are there so many communist sympathizers who've never set foot in a communist country and why are they not convinced by the stories of those that have lived through it 🤔

We're trying to find something new that will mean we don't have to work hard and that will give us cool free shit.

Even if that won't be the real reality and won't happen.

People are selfish. If they think they can get more for themselves with communist policies, they will blindly support the movement

same wannabe commies are often people of immense privilege and refuse to sign over any paychecks or property they may have to the state so that communism can start off for real

People who have never read Marx seem to be absolutely shocked when I tell them Marxist communism quite literally relies on the funding and development engines of capitalism during a transitory stage. Where we are right now is an orthodox phase of Marxism.

People have begun realizing that uncontrolled capitalism isn't really all that much better than uncontrolled communism. And because people are taught to think in such black-or-white patterns, they believe that the only alternative to uncontrolled capitalism is communism.
