Any time the police kill a civilian by unloading their clips into them, that action would be treated as a war crime if done by a soldier. Similarly, there's a specific escalation process that soldiers have to follow before shooting that is virtually never done by police, and if they don't do that they will also be charged for a war crime. At first I thought having soldiers become police would be a bad idea, but then I learned soldiers are specifically trained on escalation of force in a way that virtually no police are, so now my position is reversed lol.
I mean, Police are trained to stop the threat.
That doesn't mean they shoot the guy one time.
If the guy has a firearm, he's probably going to get shot a lot of times.
In some cases they might only shoot a few times if the person has a blunt or bladed weapon. And are obviously already incapacitated and the cop can reach a safe distance away.
Also that's not true. Police follow a use of force continuum.
