Post-WW2 US foreign policy was very successful and it's incredibly naive to think there would've been similar outcomes had we adopted an isolationist foreign policy. You can point to mistakes along the way, but the overarching history is undoubtedly a positive one.

The same is true with our trade policy... free trade has been an overall success, but just as with foreign policy, populists only focus on the downsides and bad outcomes.

Another fun fact

Any time the police kill a civilian by unloading their clips into them, that action would be treated as a war crime if done by a soldier. Similarly, there's a specific escalation process that soldiers have to follow before shooting that is virtually never done by police, and if they don't do that they will also be charged for a war crime. At first I thought having soldiers become police would be a bad idea, but then I learned soldiers are specifically trained on escalation of force in a way that virtually no police are, so now my position is reversed lol.

if you say something is bad then prove everyone is that, then all you've proven is we dont need to expose [blank] all that much, or we risk exposing ourselves.

This is the first time I've heard it from the left. Usually "every president is X" comes from libertarians fighting for an isolationist policy by arguing that every soldier or military official is a criminal.

"all american leaders are bad" is one core concept i see from the far left regularly. just as the far right is currently making the case every president is a neo con influence stooge and all foreign engagement are illegitimate. but they generally stick to war and sometimes pepper in ideas that all president are complicit in the "flawed global economy model". but i see leftists from FAR closer to the center of the spectrum try and make "we're all racist" or "we all treat women badly" or "we're all transphobic" narratives work on a regular basis. generally its just virtue signaling, if you can demonstrate you're aware of a bias you dont need to demonstrate you're combating it in any real way, just the idea that you know its there and others dont gives you a higher status in woke culture. i'd have agreed this was a fringe characteristic of both branches 4 years ago, but today its crept more and more into mainstream leftist messaging, especially from celebrities trying to bank woke points in case they're eventually #metoo'd.

That doesn't mean they shoot the guy one time.

If the guy has a firearm, he's probably going to get shot a lot of times.

In some cases they might only shoot a few times if the person has a blunt or bladed weapon. And are obviously already incapacitated and the cop can reach a safe distance away.

Also that's not true. Police follow a use of force continuum.
