It looks like Adele has lost a lot of weight and it has triggered both praise and criticism of praise for weight loss by the gravitationally challenged members of society who believe praise for weight loss is fatphobic. People are struggling with telling the singer she looks beautiful without acknowledging that the statement implies she wasn't beautiful before.

Where do our resident pardians stand on this issue 🤔

(CNN)On Wednesday, Adele celebrated her 32nd birthday with a return to Instagram. The post paid tribute to front-line health care workers and also, undeniably, called attention to the singer's pretty dramatic weight loss -- hard to ignore as she stood in the center of a large wreath wearing a tight black minidress and towering heels.

....

Now, within the media, there are some who've suggested that praising Adele's weight loss is fatphobic; that for all we know, it reflects something negative going on in her life (she's recently divorced and has in the past publicly discussed her battle with postpartum depression).

"I see that Adele is trending because people are saying how gorgeous she is since she lost weight. Y'all, we've been over this... Your weight doesn't determine your beauty. Your appearance doesn't determine your beauty. The number on the scale doesn't make you worthy or unworthy," blogger and disability activist Melissa Blake tweeted.

"Can we please not celebrate Adele for losing weight like it's the ultimate achievement? The news articles & tweets are disgusting," beauty blogger Katie Meehan tweeted.

"Yes Adele looks amazing, Adele looked amazing before she lost weight too, Adele is amazing," tweeted reporter Emma Kelly.

"Adele losing weight doesn't mean that she wasn't beautiful at any size and complimenting her appearance now doesn't take away from that fact! Her body, her choice for how it looks. You do you, girl! Happy birthday, May sister," film and TV critic Hanna Ines Flint wrote.

She did seem fun before.. is she un fun now? I guess we will see.. What happens when she gains it back? as is most likely to happen.
I don't know..
She looks better and (healthier) I don't know how you could satisfy everyone in this situation...
being heavy is bad for your health. if people are mad she lost the weight oh well.

10/10 would bang.

Hope it isn't depression or gastroparesis.

I would say some depression mixed in with 1 of the all-time motivators. Divorce.

Isn't it called the 'glow up' where women get divorced, dress slutty, and get nailed by a string of dudes to feel validated?
