https://news.gallup.com/poll/284156/trump-job-approval-personal-best.aspx

Key takeaways:

  • Trump approval at a personal high of 49%
  • Majority supports acquital
  • Majority approves of the recent military action against Iran
  • 63% approve of Trump's handling of the economy
  • Republican image rising sharply, 51% now view the party favorably, highest since 2005
  • 45% view the Democratic party favorably, a decline from 48% in September

As a discussion point, at what point do we think Democrat's are going to demand that Pelosi resign?

Do we think that this bump is related specifically to impeachment (and therefore temporary), or is it related to American satisfaction with the economy, which is currently the highest it's been in years?

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

between the two, the economy is the stronger impact.

but another major contributor the the bump is due to stuff like this: MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace says Trump is 'the enemy' in fiery rant to unite Dems

what a truly trumpian sentence. can you explain what you mean by that? how is the economy "the highest", and how does that affect the average american?

Fun fact: Economies can be measured in many ways, quantifiable by units...

I guess when you live in a place that doesn't matter they don't bother measuring anything.

jobs and the stock market.

unless we're laboring under the 1980's idea that the stock market is inaccessible to the average worker.

in Germany they measure their economy by starting a war with Europe. so far they've come away with the result of "recession" twice.

The average American can't afford anything, except the thousand dollar phones and computers they use to bitch about how oppressed they are you capitalist pig.

It's similar to firing a solid, but not perfect NFL head coach. That's all well and good but who will replace them? Do you honestly believe that Hakeem Jeffries is ready? Do you think Adam Schiff can do it? Pelosi is still the top dog IMO.

As to your last question, I think it's both. Most people are quite satisfied with the economy but they are "over" impeachment. Anyway, it's a good data point but that's all it is. A single point in time. If we've learned anything, it's that public opinion can shift quite radically. I think we can analyze long term trends but until it's October, I imagine much of this is noise.

You are misreading the sentence. American satisfaction with the economy is at a 15 year high, this as per Gallup. My personal thoughts on the economy are a lot less rosy.
