Title is self explanatory

The hospital groups, which also include the Association of Medical Colleges, the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and the Federation of American Hospitals, which represents for-profit hospitals, argued in the lawsuit that the rule will not accomplish the administration’s aim of helping consumers avoid surprise bills. Three individual hospitals also joined the case.

“America’s hospitals and health systems remain committed to providing patients with the information they need to make informed health care decisions,” the lawsuit said. It contended that the rule “will generate confusion about patients’ financial obligations, not quell it.” The lawsuit was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Here is the new rule in its some 700+ page presentation if you haven't seen it.

I think they're just butt hurt they are going to get exposed for price gouging. Nothing should confuse patients if their doctor explains everything.
I know if I see a physician in their own office for anything the final bill is reasonable but anytime a hospital gets involved I am a little nervous because they rape you hard.

I definitely would like to know what something like an optional surgery would cost before giving the ok.

even emergency situations.

my dad had one of his fingers ripped off at work and i rushed him to the hospital.
what was stated would cost somewhere around $4k, ended up closer to $20k. more and different bills kept showing up through-out the month.

I applaud the free market stopping government overreach. If people don't like not having access to prices they will go to different hospitals

To have a nearly completely unregulated healthcare sector & system.

completely unregulated? you think our healthcare system is completely unregulated?

yes, when the ballot came around we all voted for "0 regulation".
has nothing to do with big pharma lobbyists and money. lobbying doesn't even exist!

i remember when i was forced to pay a couple thousand dollars every year as a "fee" for not being covered under "any" health-care plan.
all that non-regulation really empties the pocketbook when you're nowhere near a hospital.

You should vote Democrat, they are fighting for universal healthcare. Your dad doesn't have to have a shitty employee insurance plan, as if whatever place he works are also experts at navigating health care policy and can beat Anthem, Humana, Aetna, at their own game. Lol.

Japan's government negotiates the price of all procedures available and has them available to the public and as a result you can get an MRI there for under $100 USD when they're thousands of dollars here.

S O C I A L I S M lol

Had to pay a fee for being a mooch on the rest of us for using the emergency room as your health insurance plan :p You're the reason your dad got price gouged and didn't get a five-finger discount.

Mri is free here generally but now and then they charge you $80 for various reasons then the government gives you $30 of that back.

My wife had intractable headaches and migraines and we had one ordered to rule out any neurocognitive issues as desired by the MD and it was over $2k. We have top-tier health insurance.

I can go to the VA and usually do when I need any healthcare. The service is terrible but I don't get sodomized by Anthem.
