So it's likely that we'll end up with a GOP Senate and a Democrat House but the presidency is a toss-up. Let's suppose that the Dems win the presidency in 2020. What is your greatest fear? Are there certain candidates you fear more than others? Lastly, suppose the Democrats take the Senate AND the presidency. What do you fear the most if that happens?

that depends which democrat.

if it's bernie sanders, i expect to pay a lot of taxes for universal healthcare. i also expect a lot of private owned industry to become nationalized.

if it's any other runner, i expect our economy to bankrupt if they implement even a small portion of what they've stated at D debates.

to be fair though, bernie has teamed with cortez quite a bit as of lately.
if bernie wants a "green new deal" anything like cortez' plan, we'll be bankrupt before his second term. our economy will crash.

no matter who the candidate, i'm afraid they'd reverse the progression of a stand against china.

they won't be able to implement any destructive/transformative economic policies, by the time it ran through the washington meat grinder nothing would even resemble medicare-for-all or nationalized healthcare. That goes regardless of whether they pick up the senate somehow
What I do think the greatest danger is, is an energizing of the culture warriors and supercharging of their movement and implementation of destructive social policies. Obama merely opened the door a crack with stuff like Title IX-Dear Colleague / Restorative Justice and operation Choke Point and other rather tepid measures. But every candidate running for the democratic ticket now is obsequious to the SJW extremes on every social issue- be it illegal aliens, transgenders, toxic feminism, cancel culture, islamophiles, etc.

I don't think the Green New Deal is scary because its so preposterously moronic and idiotic that nobody could even pretend to make an economic platform out of it. Nothing even resembling it will ever become law in even the most fanciful scenarios. But elect Elizabeth Warren in 2020 and there's a good chance we'll have democrats exploring ways to implement "hate speech laws", crippling or end our immigration enforcement and plunge schools and colleges into communist overdrive. Its not about how far the candidate is willing to go, its about how far the overton window will get shifted when they move the middle farther left. You can't have a party that's fanatically screaming about "kids in cages" and expect another centrist approach like Obama that keeps ICE empowered. You can't have a party that thinks misgendering someone is worse than murder and expect even Joe Biden to defend women's shelters for rape victims that want to keep out hairy men with cocks and balls- something they tried to lynch Ben Carson for repeating. The party went extreme, and the extremes will pull them along.

My biggest fear is the wealthy will get wealthier the poor poorer and the middle class further ground down into the ground.

Makes no difference if team red or team blue is in the frame. The painters behind the shadows still control it all.

Only real fear I have is Bernie getting elected and normalizing an actual socialist holding such a powerful position.

For US ? I'd rather Trump than Biden. But if Warren or Sanders: maybe a hope for the real people of their country.

Goom is basically right... the nutty economic stuff isn't going to pass, but (particularly with Warren) the cultural SJW nonsense will be empowered and immigration enforcement might be gutted.

I can't believe I'm potentially going to have to vote for a woman who says she's going to wear a Planned Parenthood scarf to her inauguration. Still better than the Infowars President.

the green new deal obviously would never see it's objective even if implemented.
still, it's an issue that the bill people are touting IS the GND. when you watch left-wing independent media, they advocate for this "deal".
you really have to wonder if they've read more than the titles in that "deal". almost any plan sounds rather sane in comparison after reading through that.

mentioning the overton window though, it only makes sense that the "left" will show further left right now.
trump single-handedly pulled the republican party to a more leftish state than it was prior.

the "republican" party is now the party of anti-war. kind of. we still have lots of pressure on iran and china i.e., we appear to be strengthening our presence on the straights of hormuz.
i believe that to be preventative measures, but others may disagree there.

just my opinion but... warren is probably the worst candidate up there.
i don't think many people understand what "wealth tax" actually is.
