This human being and citizen of the USA had his house destroyed by the police while they were arresting a shoplifter that had taken refuge in his vacant house. They used various weapons, including explosives, to dismantle his house. This is clearly a case of excessive policing.

Yet the judge presiding has ruled that this man is due nothing. The government has ruled that it is not liable for damage that it caused.
How can we not fathom a better system than bestowing a cartel with the power to arbitrarily decide whether it’s own decisions are consequential?

No one should be deprived of life, liberty or property without due cause. These important rights, the one’s we should consider essential, are being forfeited in favor of faux justice and blind obedience to a post-modern orthodoxy with constantly fluctuating axioms. As a result, blind spots like these may soon become the norm.

What do we know about the shoplifter? What did he do? Of course the news didn't do their job with this research. Until then, I'm siding with the police on this.

It's obvious this isn't a typical police course of action, it's very relevant.

"Shoplift" was probably the initial crime, however, I'm sure additional crimes and/or actions continued (I haven't looked into this case).

It's the same premise as, "Cops kill unarmed black man", or "Man doing garden work gets shot by police". Yet, if you actually read the actual case, there is far more to the story. Usually a suspect assaulting a PO/trying to take the officers gun.

In most cases, yet in almost all the cases, the police have been in the right. And did take appropriate actions.

Only recent exception based on the details that I know of is the Texas one with the woman shot through the window, that may have even been an accidental discharge. Based on what I know, it was handled poorly though.
