Has there ever been a weaker response than this? It's vapid and he's lying to our face.

"The specific views expressed by blitzchung were NOT a factor in the decision we made. I want to be clear: our relationships in China had no influence on our decision."

"At Blizzard, our vision is “to bring the world together through epic entertainment.” And we have core values that apply here: Think Globally; Lead Responsibly; and importantly, Every Voice Matters, encouraging everybody to share their point of view."

Except, of course, point of views which support Hong Kong.

There is rules. He broke those rules. Hes supposed to talk about the tournament, not his political views.

It's no different than the NFL or NASCAR penalizing people for unsportsmanlike conduct or breaking contracted agreements. Global sports events should be about the sport. Not spamming your personal views on random shit- that's what Twitter is for.

Don't make this into something it's not. Conspiracy theories are not valid arguments.

Sure. That's fine. If Blizzard had apologized and said something along the lines of, "we're committed to gaming and while we don't have a stance on his statement, we'd prefer it if players talked about Hearthstone related experiences" very few people would have cared. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. They gave out an incredibly harsh ban to the player and FIRED the casters. Then, they let the community stew for a week and gave a weak explanation. All and all, it's really difficult to defend Blizzard's actions on this matter.

And took his prize money that he rightfully won! Blizzard is a joke.

No one is saying that Blizzard did anything wrong legally lol. It's very clear that Blizzard has the power to do w/e the fuck it wants.
