I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been a thread on this yet. Supposedly, an off-duty female Dallas PD officer entered the wrong apartment in her building, thinking it was her own, saw a man inside, and drew her weapon and shot him. Blood was apparently drawn for a tox screen, but how in the hell do you just randomly walk into the wrong apartment, then shoot the person you find inside?

It does sounds like they may seek manslaughter charges against the officer (who has not been named yet).

I'd argue that it is more that police (in general) in the US aren't sufficiently trained in de-escalation techniques, and all to often, resort to force when force isn't warranted.
