im asking this because my history professors focus so much on how slavery was horrible and stuff, but if they werent coming here by the millions, they'd stay there by the millions...

No, I think he's arguing that despite being a "bad" thing, it was ultimately positive for the blacks alive today (in America).

Yes it's positive for black Americans today. Just like the holocaust had a positive effect for Jews.

If it was a positive I would suggest it is up to them to make that decision and so far the overwhelming majority of their descendents would most vocally and even violently disagree .

Was the potato famine ultimately good for Irish Americans ?

Was the Holocaust ultimately good for American Jews ?

Horror is horror and can never be justified because it resolves over time in the eyes of those not affected .
