not saying that the obama administration cannot improve on the current state, but where does the foreign policy fall down most?

@1: plenty talk but nothing concrete, even the chinese have clearer plans now

@2: will sending tens of thousands more troops be any good or is it just delaying total failure?

@3: like the last admin, there is plenty talk about stopping israeli settlements violating international treatises, but where is the action?

@4: while i believe the cancellation of the gwb plan was right, some might consider this as failure

All of the above.

On a more interesting note, my school gave some advice on avoiding SPAM emails, it's quite entertaining:

When you receive a SPAM message, it is usually best to simply ignore it and delete it. It is generally not a good idea to click on any part of the message, or follow any web link. Keep the following points in mind:
    *
Nothing is free. No matter what the message says, there is always a catch. There is no such thing as free music, movies, clothing, or porn. Nobody is going to spend money to buy your e-mail address and send you a message in order to give you something at a loss.

    *
You are not the only one with that "exclusive" unique prize claim number. Everybody on our e-mail system got that same "special" claim number!

    *
Nothing in a bottle will safely make any part of your anatomy, male or female, larger or more attractive to the opposite sex.

    *
You are no more "pre-approved" for that credit card than anyone else - we're all pre-approved for that card with the low "teaser" interest rate that shoots up to a ridiculous rate shortly after we receive it.

I think we'll see shortly how this plays out. Long term consequences will be the alienation of our East European allies, but it's up for debate whether Russia will capitalize or not. If not, it'll wash out, we won't gain much of anything, and our allies will be distanced, but Russia may be less cold. On the other hand, if Russia continues it's aggressive foreign policy, it will be marked as a clear failure.

what you consider russia's AGGRESSIVE foreign policy is just a response to clearly aggressive foreign policy by the usa
remember the various nice-coloured revolutions sponsored by britain and the usa?

nb: the only "eastern european allies" which raise the voice a little louder are the poles - and the resaon is not security, they always complain for an extra dollar or euro

I think his biggest failure is not annihilating every member of the Israeli lobby and indirectly supporting the injustices against the Palestinians.

You mean various revolutions that "might have been" sponsored by the United States, and were hugely supported by the respective countries involved :( ?

Yes, I do know of them, Russia's control over it's sphere collapsed, that isn't us being aggressive, it's the natural progression of their fall. Their movement in recent years to reclaim those territories, or bring them back into line is what I call actual aggression. Whether it's justified or not is a matter of opinion.

forgetting that russia is on the incline again after surviving a huge decline post the break-up of the ussr?
wonder if the decline of the power of the usa will bottom out and recover or just crash at zero
