Countries like Japan have it and they are some of the healthiest people. Would be interesting to see what would happen here. Probably a war? lol.

Public weigh ins, done in a carnival-like atmosphere with blowhorns and confetti, fatties hoisted unwillingly onto an enormous scale

No, they need to make Adderall XR, OTC and cheap.
If you wake up take it and eat a meal either before or any time its active you don't feel much of anything.
This will shift a large part of the population to eat only one meal dinner.
This will also cure depression, and make the population more productive.

Are we talking taxing overweight people for being overweight or taxing unhealthy foods a lot higher so that people aren’t encouraged to eat them? Or like the metabo law like Japan has?

Voted No

1. Not in favor of more taxes
2. Individual Freedom, if a person wants to eat candy and drink soda, so long as they're not hurting anyone else, let them.
3. I'm not a fat body and I don't consume or buy, candy or soda.

:)
