https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/02/world/americas/mexico-cartel-fentanyl-trump-tariffs.htmlLeft wing rags quietly waxing poetically about their beloved cartels. Listing out the risks and drawbacks of the US government antagonizing them. Of course, it's written from the perspective that the cartels are criminals and bad hombres, but there's a great emphasis on the
personal stories and experiences of cartel members. The New York Times really wants us to know how these dudes feel. To me this is obviously a signal that the US Left would rather the cartels thrive than Donald Trump roll them up good and proper.
In the real world, I'm seeing an outpouring of exuberance. Finally, the military our blood and treasure built is going to be used to defend our own soil. I have to say, when it finally happens, I immediately think of why in the fucking hell this wasn't already the case. Say what you will about Trump's flaws, but US Democrats are so overtly anti-American, anti-justice, and anti-civilization, that they lost to the big orange cheeto man.
What vexes me even more about this - I know that the moment a Democrat administration is back in power, these cartels will breathe a sigh of relief and resume operations of smuggling fent and people and beheading anyone in their way.
A decent youtuber take on it:

Democrats aren't left wing.
Trump is still shit. Just because the Democrats are shit doesn't change that fact.
