Integrate their opinions into their "news" are biased? I feel like the only non biased news I have seen is my local news that just presents news without some narrative pushing one agenda over another.

When the heck did people start accepting news that had some narrative to it? Journalists are supposed to be unbiased.

Not only that but now it has infiltrated independent and non-traditional forms of news.
In this last usa presidential election there was a big emphasis on podcasts and online influencers.
Basically everything good becomes corrupted, anything mankind touches turns to s***.

I remember news papers, local ones that actually tried to provide journalism.
Then the digital age rolled in and they couldn't compete.
Only mainstream sources could afford to keep the doors open, talking physical media.

Now almost everything is digital, again I remember small websites that tried to provide journalism.
Then with the rise of people gaining access to the internet they got dwarfed by the mainstream.

a child is born innocent and taught evil.
such is the course of all mankind.

---
There is a story about a king who sends his scouts out into the world to find the last living leaf in the garden of eden,
they return with it, instead of doing everything to replant it, he eats it and turns it to s***.

Ya I can't imagine growing up as a kid nowadays having all this garbage being spewed at you from every corner. I am glad I grew up in a time where the internet and social media wasn't as big. It went to shit in like 2014.

I've come to the conclusion that the existence of unbiased journalists or news is an idealist myth - it doesn't exist in reality and never has, and never will

Language is naturally biased. The closest thing possible to unbiased news would be 1-party state media. This is because in a pluralistic system of governance, the media will always be a battleground to curry favour. This is true in principle unless anyone can offer a rebuttal

My work is heavily tied to politics being mineral based and the fact I'm on the computer at work 8 hours a day makes it difficult to drown noise.

When I retire early I am just going full head in the sand.

You probably weren't expecting politics to become like this whenever you were applying for your jerb.

The best news nowadays is all long form. Podcasts are King, just look at the viewership some of them get vs. Legacy media. It's nice too cause it's usually uncut and hours long. You can pause the content and fact check it etc.

I also enjoy the creators who travel to locations and interview the locals. During the whole "eating cats and dogs" business all the legacy news did was laugh it off and referred to what the mayor said... several YouTubers flew out to Ohio and interviewed the locals to find out from them what was happening. Same with Greenland. I don't give a shit what some news anchor thinks about Greenland, I would like to hear from the people who live there... what do they want?

I tried to explain to people that eating cats and dogs was actually normal for Haitians, because man's gotta eat to survive and that's what they're often reduced to in Haiti, so they acclimate a taste for cats and dogs.

I didn't really care if it was real, and neither did the residents of Springfield. Most of their concerns were about how bad they were at driving and that nearly all public services are backlogged for months.
