Since I see a lot of racist commenters in this board (even though it's against the rules?) I think it's important to remind people:

Racism stems from the feeling of inferiority or naivety. If you are racist: It is more likely a coping mechanism to help you overcome your own feelings of lack of self worth.

No man is lesser for having different skin, language, or religion. If you justify any idea that goes against this then you need to address your own personal failings and overcome them. Stop using racism as an excuse to make yourself feel superior and instead use self reflection, logic and reasoning. Free yourself from this crutch and you will be better off. I promise.

My feeling of superiority comes from the accomplishments of my ancestors, and my racism comes from my ability to recognize patterns.

Really? Couldn't imagine getting having to get your confidence and sense of self-worth from your ancestors rather than your own accomplishments.

To each their own though.

You don’t get any credit for the greatness of other men. Those aren’t your accomplishments.

You also aren’t responsible for the sins of your ancestors though so a bit of good news and a bit of bad.

People who try to take credit for the genius of other people are without exception dull and useless themselves, because otherwise you would have your own accomplishments to be proud of.

Pattern recognition was important to our survival from an evolutionary perspective, however, racism is a useless by-product that we should grow out of. It's immature and irrational.

If your feeling of superiority is from your ancestors and not your own accomplishments as previously stated in this topic.. again, that's a coping mechanism that comes from your feelings of inadequacy of your own accomplishments.

I echo his sentiment but my feelings of superiority do indeed come from my accomplishments and track record of being proven right even when they around me think otherwise.

I sense deep sitting complexes :D
You need a bit of both: connection to your predessors through your culture/family/life style and the sense of yourself through your own accomplishments. Mankind didn't survive hard times by being a loose knitted group. Any new element or person willing to join a group needs to prove himself/herself worthy.
