The "federal border and immigration personnel" has repeatedly been caught cutting open the fence and wire Texas put in place along the Rio Grande Valley and literally waving through the illegals. There is ZERO indication whatsoever that the decision makers in the federal government have any intention of changing their course, of actually securing the border and reducing the number of people coming in. Until then, no actual "progress" can be made; further funding for Mayorkas and his department would at best be wasted and has the potential to be actively harmful.

Trump managed the border crisis far better than Biden with far more limited funds. So why is billions in additional funding necessary to control a border which was under control under the previous administration? No one is buying the Biden administration messaging on this, they need to figure out fast what is wrong before Biden ends up on the street.
