As it turns out, the gunman, 37 year old male Mohamed Barakat was armed with 1800 rounds of ammunition, 3 rifles, 4 pistols, homemade explosives and a hand grenade and canisters of gasoline, all while the Downtown Fargo Street Fair and Red River Valley Fair were going on nearby with many people congregating, and presumably one or either of them was the original target. Since the terrorist was killed before he got to put whatever his plan was in motion, we won't know, but one police officer died and other officers and fire fighters wound up saving lots of lives.
