I don’t think it will erupt, simply because Serbia is too small in a sea of countries that would back the other side.

The people of Kosovo are obviously right and should get their independent republic just like the Russian minority in Ukraine should get their independent republic!

It's an "ethnic" problem, but IMO dividing them even more is certainly not a solution because it would just give control to mafiosos, gangs, or influent families/sub-tribes.

Kosovo doesn't consist of Albanians only. Serbs are a minority there. By appointing Alabanian majours by force, you become antidemocratic and provoke antidemocratic sentiments. Serbs didn't start the bullshit and they were the ones who asked for a EU mediator.

you forgot to mention the part where serbia doesn't even recognise kosovo as a sovereign country...

They are supposed to proceed an exchange of territories, each one having a part of land containing a majority from "the other side"... This was years ago, i have no idea if they fixed it, i guess not.

I am talking about the Serbian minority in Kosovo, not about the Serbian state.

i know. i'm just trying to provide some context as to WHY some albanians might be a tad biased, especially those that remember what the serbs did in the 90s.

to be clear, i'm not saying that makes discrimination against specific ethnicities right, of course not, i'm just trying to be fair here and explain why there might be some concerns about putting people in power who might (obviously not all kosovar serbs are alike) want to undermine the existence of your very country. it's a very complex situation - and that's why we should be careful with characterisations that simplistically paint one side as the bad ones...
