3 years ago i raised 2 batches of 50 birds each, had very little death only like 5 total, and processed them all and put them in a chest freezer quartered.
then we had a kid and i just didnt have the time, now she's a toddler who will be happy to "help" (read: follow along and ask 1000 questions) so im doing another 2-3 batches this year. and we're getting laying hens again also after a fox killed my whole flock last fall.
i have a mobile coop for the meat birds that i just move to fresh grass each day, pretty simple until it comes time for slaughter.
