When I bid on an item and i'm outbid by someone else
why does it still show my lant is used as if i still have the bid up?

Do i get the lant back when the item is purchased or what?

Yes when you you are out bid you do get your lant back. Locate the mailbox. But as a tip watch how many days it is up for sale. Watch the day it is up for closing then start bidding. I also watch these and alot of times I get some realy great deals as people forget about them.
