That said, if you find a decent tattoo artist to do this work, they will be able to take these two concepts and create something new and unique for you that is within their technical ability to achieve in your wife's tattoo.

You can use this as a sort of test for your artist too... if they can't make the concept work, they may not be the artist you want doing your permanent artwork.

This 100% - can't emphasize it enough! The skin is a strange medium and any good artist will take your concept and make it their own, while still catering to what you want - and they will appreciate the freedom you give them with that.

I also can try and make something up for you, free of charge, if you don't seem to like what makes up for you - but I definitely support you taking your idea to an artist that you trust instead!

e/ I have many tattoos and am certainly not trying to change your decision, just supporting that you (or your wife in this case) will get better results from your artist this way.
