Just reading about Ares in Greek mythology... he's "usually humiliated" lol
Maybe consider Mars... the Roman god* of war, basically the same as Ares but "was given a more important and dignified place in ancient Roman religion as ancestral protector of the Roman people and state"
Here's an Idea:
Mars/Ares on a blazing chariot in the clouds arms outstretched toward Zeus standing atop Mount Olympus who is throwing bolts of lightning down through the clouds which travel all the way to the ground level where they decimate the opposing army :-)
As for artwork... find a tattoo artist whose work you appreciate and ask them to draw it. Given a decent starting idea, the more trust you can give them and the more liberty they have to do their own style with it, the better it will turn out... at least from what I've seen.
Hope to hear some other cool ideas soon, good luck!
Agreed! Other than that once you're projecting a big sleeve make sure to clear some things before you start tattooing:
- Prefer Lighter or darker work
- Define the body zones that the ink actualy disapeers with time
- Use plane zones for the most detailed draws
- Start with B&W and after that you can decide if you really want colors on it
- Study the artist's book
- Try to interact with the artist while the project is growing
- Use a style you like
Imo these are really solid advices!
